Advice for a student

hi Krystal and Saagar I hope you guys are doing alright through this move to a new platform. I'm a college student who is interested in politics I'm from Oregon. and my question is "I here you guys talk about wanting politicians to embrace more non establishment media and actually embrace issues that matter to individuals. how would I encourage my federal public representative(in my case earl blumenauer) to do this other than obviously withholding a vote for him can I write him a letter what can I do?? thank you love the show wish you all the luck in the world !

Reimagining the IRS....

I don’t know what kind of things you will cover in your new format, but one I’ve always wanted your take on in a longer format is Taxes..... If you guys could start from scratch with the way we fund the government locally, by state, and on a federal level, what would it look like? Would you recreate a version of the current system or would you invent an entirely new system? What are the biggest problems with the current system in your opinions?

Colombian / American ExPat Living in Brazil

No question just figured just send my regards. I am born and raised in NYC to a Colombian family (35 years old) so as you can imagine the very deep cultural and religious background and now through a series of butterfly effect events living in São Paulo for work reasons for about 3 years now. One of the reasons I moved actually was to get away from the student loans I incurred but that's all sorted now mostly. (I actually qualified for Biden's forgiveness on predatory loans wha! wha!) I went ahead and signed up for the year since I have no doubt you guys are going to kill it! Rising was incredible since I also felt politically homeless as a two time Obama voter and forced to vote Trump in 2016 and 2020 for a myriad of reasons. Rising was absolutely the way things are moving forward and this is something I see on a daily basis since my parents are in NYC and only watch CNN all day so you see how toxic it is and even here in Brazil you very familiar with the political landscape and meanwhile most Brazilians are Trump haters I think its because CNN international is the only mainstream international news outlet meanwhile Fox News is only available on only 1 of the cable companies and at the highest tier so in essence CNN international has a complete lock on the market. I understand both sides of the spectrum and quite frankly don't hate either side but even here in São Paulo it is very similiar to USA where you have Bolsonista's (as they call them) mostly in rural and Bolsonaro haters here in the major city and its absolutely disgusting when I have actually heard people say "If you vote Bolsonaro you should die" Granted the govt has its problems but their is clearly a bigger problem and its about information and conflicts of interest on ALL SIDES. That is obviously a can of worms in it's own right but regardless supporting something like this new venture is probably the best way for me to be able to help bridge the gap. I get asked constantly from people here about USA and USA politics and my usual response was to forward them to one of your Radar's on whatever subject since its very time consuming to go into how arguably politically the USA is as bad if not worse than most of the world but moving forward will forward them here. Thank You! Krystal and Saagar and wish nothing but the best. - John in São Paulo
