Mainstream keeps showing images of needles puncturing and entering flesh. Does this reinforce vax hesitancy -or is it just me. I'm not scared of needles yet I still cringe every time I see. Mainstream has a fixation on depicting physical injury to individuals. Surely are realising this potential negative impact ?
If not, you must. Bo is a once-in-a-generation type talent. Inside is so poignant and cogent in a meta, self-contradictory way. He filmed, wrote, starred in, directed, and edited the entire thing in a single room over the course of the last year and it looks like 100 people worked on it. It's incredible. A shining example of how comedy can speak directly to the truth when no one else is capable. I haven't seen a piece of entertainment media so acutely aware of every layer of the modern political and social landscape really ever. I am most interested specifically in your thoughts on how social media and the internet generally has been an important agent of change but is also tearing apart the social fabric of our country and the world and fostering dissociative mental disorders, depression, and suicide among the young. And we're doing next to nothing to address it, as the vast majority of our elected officials are rich sociopaths who grew up in an era more different from our own than any two groups of humans in the history of human civilization.
Krystal - how, if at all, has being a parent changed your politics? What are your main concerns for your children as they grow up in a world with climate change, insane housing markets, etc.? How do you talk to your children about politics? I’d also love to hear from Saagar about how our current political framework dictates who can start a family and how that impacts you.
