Climate Disruption
What role does habitat destruction play in the climate crisis? Wetland drainage and deforestation has led to aquifers that are drying up, river deltas and fisheries disappearing, magnified damage from floods, greater exposure to storm surge, pollution running straight into the ecosystem creating massive dead zones throughout the world. The profound buildup of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere is more from diminished capacity to process then it is from novel levels of human emissions. Any further destruction of wetlands or forest areas needs to be qualified as crimes against humanity.
Tent-city (Opting Out) is the ultimate vote of discontent
I love the show, and sorry for the maybe odd perspective. A secure, hygienic, modern tent-city should be available to everyone. It should be the standard, international, minimum safety-net, and a legitimate metric of government policy. Also a self-correcting force for wages and housing prices: Wages too low - opt out to the tent-city, housing cost too high - opt out to the tent-city. Also, clean up the immigration process with a modern tent-city in Baja, Mexico - solar power, saltwater sewage system - process legit refugees there, then transport them (families intact) to a San Diego, modern tent-city. Also, each tent-city should have nearby quarantine and hospice facilities, and a nursing apprenticeship program. And perhaps the US could draw down its forces and be content with a simple North American alliance. NA has plenty of resources for a self-sufficient economy and is easily defended from threats.
When is Left Media Ready to Help Elect Candidates?
I was a long-time subscriber to lefty new shows like TYT prior to migrating to your show. It seems that independent media and specifically lefty media (Sorry Saagar, I know I'm erasing you here ;-)), are now large enough to effect some change. At what point and by what metric would you think that Independent media would be large enough to break through the MSM echo-chamber to actually help give true populist candidates a chance at federal office?
Sympathy for unvaccinated Americans.
So overall I agree shaming and denying care for unvaccinated individuals is on it's face abhorrent. But I do think some people have decent reasons for their anger towards Americans who don't get vaccinated. As an example this man who explains his wife getting her cancer treatment cut short because of Covid patients overcrowding a hospital. https://news.yahoo.com/man-chronicling-wifes-cancer-treatment-122930186.html Frankly I would be just as angry if I was in his position. Now, I know this is more of an issue with our awful for profit healthcare system overall... But in our current reality if a hospital has to make a choice between treating Cancer patients "or other terminal diseases" and people who refused the covid vaccine I actually think the moral choice is treating the former first.
