What can be done to fix the rental market./Texas migration pricing Texans out of town.

I am 25, I live in Dallas Texas and I just got my first salaried job. I don’t have student loan debt, I own my car. My girlfriend makes $16 an hour with no student loan debt, and owns her car. We can’t afford rent of a two bedroom apartment nearly anywhere desirable. Let alone renting a house. The migration to Texas is making it unlivable for native Texas. It has made me despondent towards the thought of every being able to fulfill our dreams. I would love to hear your thoughts on the migration to Texas and the rental market effecting young people. 3 years ago we would have been able to get a nice 2 bedroom apartment on our nearly $80,000 annual combined income. It’s depressing to make an upward move and have the goal post moved. I feel quite desperate for change. Thank you. I love the show. Keep it going with the awesome coverage!✊🏻

Network Economies

Question for both of you. You guys have touched on the issue of network-based business models a few times in the past (i.e., in the Amazon Basics case), and I see the topic brought up repeatedly in a lot of industries. The value a network holds is in the number of people on it; therefore the product makers, in a sense, become the product itself. We see this model has dominated various industries like music, search engines, and more. And in a lot of those spaces, the people that make up the network (i.e., Spotify artists, Amazon drivers and factory workers, etc.) are treated poorly in order to serve the real customers. My question is this: are network economies especially prone to monopolization? How do you weigh the pros and cons of this model? What, if anything, do you think can or should be done to improve the lives of the actual producers in these industries who feel like they must be a part of the network in order to work in the industry at all?

Is there anything normal Americans can actually look forward to for the future of this country?

From incompetent leaders completely out of touch with normal Americans to Americans barely being able to get by day to day, it seems there isn’t anything moving in the right direction here. Is there any sliver of hope for the rest of us?
