The fanatic, absolutist support for Israel making today's political conflict more dangerous than past controversies results, I think, from religion -- a force we progressives keep ignoring: fundamentalist Judaism on one hand, and fundamentalist Christianity, the latter of which dominated two-thirds of the Republican Party. To us, Revelation reads like a dope-dream, but to Christian Zionists, it's their literal reason for living and the bedrock of their self-image as the special, superior elite chosen to sit at God's right hand for all eternity. That is why they react with such rage to any criticism of Israel, because it challenges their entire self image as God's select. They hate Jews. They fervently pray for the day one-third of Jews convert to Christianity and the other two-thirds are exterminated by God to eternal condemnation. I wish Biden, Democrats, and progressives -- and podcasters such as yourselves -- would point out the extreme anti-Semitism of Christian Zionists and Republicans every chance they and you get.
I would love to learn more about how your show is produced. What do you mean when you say "A7" and "B2" on the screen? How do you organize the things you want to put up on the screen? Do you read from a teleprompter a lot? How do you know when it's time to wrap up a segment? What's on your computer screens during the show? Do you look at notes? Do you edit a lot? I just think it would be so fun to have an in-depth look at how you do things. Since you're independent!
