Dousing Inflation with Gasoline
Something I took away from DeSantis' Twitter announcement (besides the obvious) is he claimed to be able to stop inflation by increasing domestic oil output. Trump said the same thing in his announcement. I'm confused by the argument that this would make a significant difference in global warming. If I take off my partisan hats for a minute, I wonder - the oil doesn't release CO2 until you burn it. The only way increased oil production would lead to increased fuel consumption is by lowering the price of gas. So why don't environmentalists just come out and say they want gas to be more expensive? And why don't they celebrate whenever OPEC cuts oil output? After all, if the US isn't selling more oil on the global market then that demand will be made up by countries producing oil with far less stringent environmental regulations. Last, do you think this would actually have a measurable impact on inflation in the US? Wouldn't it be preferable to Fed rate cuts and quantitative tightening?
A Course In Miracles?
Hey guys, love your show, been listening for years now. You have become a huge part of my life, my dogs and I listen every morning, can't say enough about how important you are to us. This one is more for Krystal but I would love Sagar's input as well. How familiar are you with the book, "A Course in Miracles," and Marianne Williamson's relationship with the book? I myself am a cult survivor and part of my healing process has been heavily researching and educating myself on cultic dynamics and the history of cults in our country. There is a podcast called, "Conspirituality," that examines the intersection of right-wing extremism and the New-Age sphere. They have done fantastic and extremely diligent work on all things cultish and specifically the book, "A course in miracles," and Marianne's close connection to it. This isn't a dig at Marianne per say, believe me, I am as stoked as you are to see a legit challenger within the Democratic party, however I would love to hear your opinion and maybe a more in-depth analysis on this subject. New WHO pandemic treaty
Hey BP, Can you please provide your rational behind not discussing the ~6 month window the USA has to opt out of the new updated terms in the WHO pandemic treaty? I may be misinterpreting the situation (looking for your insight), but this treaty (as written) may possibly be the greatest coup of all time... Seems like it could be news worthy or worth a mention.
Spotify Not Promoting
Thank you for putting video on Spotify! I have been watching your show at least 2-3 times per week; however, I have to actually type “Breaking Points” into the Spotify search bar every morning. I’ve noticed your show is the only one that doesn’t pre populate into the suggestion algorithm on their homepage. Your show doesn’t even show up on the “recently played” Spotify list even though I am following your premium page and watch frequently. I hope this is a just me situation…
