The Koch network

Hi Krystal and Saagar, thank you for all you do, as my connection to current events would be too confounding to pursue without your honest and independent reporting. I just finished the book Kochland by Christopher Leonard, and I was left angry and slack-jawed by both the overt facts and subtext of the book. It left me wondering whether any one person is more responsible than Charles Koch, for the divisions that have developed between everyday Americans over the last 15 years. The Koch network is absolutely mind-blowing in its scale and effectiveness in swaying public policy in Washington, from organizing fake “grassroots” movements to creating judicial reform institutions, think tanks, lobbying firms, and so much more. Republicans correctly point out that wealthy donors on the left do the same types of things, i.e. George Soros and others. My question is: with your guys’ connections and your fingers on the pulse in Washington today, do you still see the Koch network as having an outsized effect on policy, or is it just another component in a crowded field of Washington corruption and influence?

Where should we watch & listen to help the most?

With the launch of BP on Spotify there are now many ways to consume the show. Its great! But.. which way benefits the reach, and future potential of the show, most? Honestly I can watch and listen to the show any which way, but if this app or that helps the show more then thats what I want to do. Thanks!

Pelosi one drink limit.

Which would you prefer, people voting on issues directly through direct ballot initiatives, or being able to vote on the regulation of government itself through direct ballot initiatives? For example 2/3 of people voting yes plus 2/3 of counties in order to pass regulations on state governments for example. It also happens to be one of the biggest areas of bipartisan agreement amongst voters. I get people being skeptical of Yang and his efforts, but what other way out do we have, and what other better way to ensure we have a government of by and for the people?
