Consequences of the violation of the Budapest Memorandum
Dear Krystal and Saagar, one thing which is very seldom talked about the war in Ukraine is that, after the fall of the Soviet Union, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakstan gave up their nukes in exchange for security assurance from the U.S., the U.K. and Russia (the Budapest Memorandum). What impact the violation of these agreements can you see having on any Russian/Ukrainian peace deal, or more generally worldwide?
The ADHD medication shortage
This is a dangerous and unnecessary failure of the FDA and Drug Enforcement Administration to protect the US population from Pharma profiteering and poor public oversight. The promise of increased functionality is being unceremoniously ripped from a vulnerable population that is predisposed to addiction while Fentanyl is littering US streets will deaths. I really hope there’s no uptick in Fentanyl deaths due to this piss poor planning. Agree?
Do you think that we should be concerned about politicians using AI to more easily fabricate events to get us into wars and such?
Most of us have seen ChatGPT by now and even though it has flaws, it's impressive. AI generated, or augmented, photos and videos are also here - they're not great and have flaws, but again, impressive and approaching appearing realistic. Given a few more years, or maybe a decade, the tech will be even better and you'd be able to generate attacks on cities or terrorist attacks on US soil. I worry that politicians and their strategists will try and leverage this tech to get people fired up for their political BS.
