Chicago!

Hey K&S, Thanks for visiting my beautiful city of Chicago, and special thanks for hosting this show in my neighborhood. For AMA, please tell us where you guys ate in our wonderful city.

Is tip culture really necessary?

I just came back from Japan and Taiwan, they look at me weirdly when I offer them tips. While the service industry expects tips. I try to tip at least 15-18% here, but it really adds up to my bill (after the crazy 10% tax here) the cost of eating out ends up being way more than the menu price. Why do we need a tipping culture, is it because so the owners can pay cheaper wages?

Pushback against Obama's handling of Ukraine

I don't think Obama's handling of Ukraine is to be applauded. It now looks a lot like the initial appeasement of Hitler in World War II: allowing Russia to invade Ukraine and grab some of the country in 2014, with little or no complaint from the rest of the world, probably set the stage for Russia thinking it would be OK with the West if they just came in grabbed the entire country. And Trump worked hard to support that impression, as well. Imperialism by any county is bad, it's just that Russia's variety is the worst. Their goal is to change boundaries on maps, and they're willing to destroy everything in a country and kill its civilians to do it. China offers to install infrastructure so they can extract resources, and the US depends upon cultural and economic takeover, both of which are bad, but not nearly so deadly.

Federal reserve raising rates?

Hello Saagar and Krystal, I have seen this term, “fed reserve raising rates” used countless times. And honestly, I have no idea what it means, I have asked several people I know if they do and all have had trouble answering that question. I know there are people like myself that listen to the show regularly that do not know and most likely do not know they don’t know. It might be a good idea to explain what exactly that means to the audience since it is relevant to the economic discourse
