Thoughts on Gabbard's leaving of the Dem Party?

Hello Krystal & Saagar, I've been a long-time watcher of your show since your days on Rising and a supporter during your BP fundraising days. Thank you both and your team for all your hard work! I learned about Tulsi Gabbard's announcement to leave the Democratic Party shortly after watching your Tuesday show. I've been a supporter of Gabbard during the 2020 primaries because her campaign platform seemed most aligned with my own values (with Bernie or Marianne Williamson being a very close second). However, since Biden took office, I've been troubled by her sharp pivot to the far right and frequent appearance on Tucker Carlson's show, going so far as to parrot their talking points in her own way or hosting for Tucker on his own show. Even though I agree with many of her critiques of Biden's administration and the Democratic Party as a whole, nor do I blame her for leaving a party that treated her as a public enemy during their primaries, I can't shake this gut feeling that Gabbard is forsaking much of her 2020 policies for something that's more extreme and alienating of potential voters. If she ran her 2020 campaign based on what she's been saying over the past year or two, I would definitely not vote for her. What do you two think of Tulsi leaving the Democratic Party in her bombastic announcement? Is she burning bridges that will doom her next move? Or is this the only viable path for her political career to survive post-2020?

Crime in NYC is NOT up, it is down.

I would ask you to research and then report on what network and cable news are doing to help the GOP with their "crime is out of control" theme. All local NYC based networks are hyping the actual shooting and assault incidents and have been since the GOP came out with their strategy. Here is a link to the crime stats which are maintained by the NYPD: https://compstat.nypdonline.org/2e5c3f4b-85c1-4635-83c6-22b27fe7c75c/view/89 Although they fluctuate the trend is clear. Shootings are way down as are murders. There has been an uptick mostly in theft. Last July Bloomberg published an article on how the media hype is scaring the public. It contains a chart showing the shooting incidents which have declined or leveled off and the dramatic increase in media reporting. https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/2022-is-nyc-safe-crime-stat-reality/ This pattern is reminscent of the 2014 midterms. The GOP ran on convincing the people that we were all going to die from Ebola and that it was Democrats fault and network and cable news hyped up the notion. On ABC, CBS, and NBC local news every little black kid that was hospitalized was purportedly being "tested for suspected Ebola". That was every single day for months. I told my wife that it would all stop the day after the election and it did. No more Ebola scare reporting after Republicans tool control of the House and Senate. Welcome fo 2014 all over again. HIPPA violations and abortion bans

I want to know why any law officer would ever know about if you had an abortion or not, isn’t that a violation of HIPPA laws? The hospitals nor your insurance company can talk about your medical information without your consent

Rachel Maddow’s new podcast

My coworker told me I have to listen to an amazing podcast about history. Although her and I rarely agree on politics I was still open to try it out. Then she told me it’s by Rachel Maddow and how great she has always been on MSNBC. I can’t help but wonder if it would be littered with woke garbage or have some ulterior motive behind it. I trust you guys and I don’t trust Rachel Maddow. Now that she has left MSNBC is it possible she isn’t completely terrible. Just wondering if you’ve heard of and checked out the episodes? Your thoughts?

We need interaction!

The youtube chat happens every day but there is never any interaction with breaking points. we would like it very much if you would do a live QA with super chats at least once a month. you are very disconnected from the audience.
